Friedman, Shmuel
He was born on April 12, 1917 in Kishinev, Russia, from where he immigrated to Palestine. He joined the British army and was assigned to the 605 Company of the British Expeditionary Force, and served in the western desert at Marsa Matrouch, Solom and Tobruk. He was sent to Greece with the British Expeditionary Force in March 1941. At the end of April, most of the soldiers surrendered to the Germans, and many of the soldiers, including Shmuel, were captured. On 25 Sivan, June 6, 1945, after he was released and transferred to Switzerland, he died of his illness, and Shmuel was laid to rest in the civilian cemetery in Lugano, Switzerland.
