Friedland, Yehoshua Zvi
Son of Sarah and Pinchas (Paul). Born on January 11, 1965 in the United States, he was the second son of a family of four, and when Yehoshua was six years old, the family immigrated to Israel and established their home in Kiron, where he studied at the Rimonim elementary school in Kiryat Ono and at the school Son of-Zvi High School in the Real Sector At the end of July 1983, Yehoshua was drafted into compulsory military service in the IDF. He went to basic training and was assigned to the Intelligence Corps. At the end of his basic training, Yehoshua was sent to the rank of corporal and was promoted to the rank of corporal and continued in the Intelligence Corps course, in a course for intelligence officers and deciphering officers. At the end of his basic training he was promoted to sergeant. In March 1985, Yehoshua went on to a basic officers’ course and immediately followed him to a supplementary course for intelligence officers. On July 22, 1985, Yehoshua was critically wounded by a vehicle during a navigational exercise while he was in an intelligence officer course. He was evacuated to Haemek Hospital in Afula, but the doctors failed to save his life. On July 25, 1985. Yehoshua died of his wounds and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, leaving behind his parents, Noah and Moshe, and sister Rivka. .
