Friedland, Jacob


Son of Shalom and Rosa. He was born on February 18, 2222 in Gombin, Poland, and joined the Hashomer Hatzair youth movement at the age of nine, and was thus a double parenting of his parents and movement from the youth group to which he devoted himself. With his parents to Argentina, and even there he was a devoted member of the movement. He studied handicrafts and specialized in craftsmanship; He also studied mechanics at an ORT school. He was one of the first to undergo pioneering training and was attached to the second group of immigrants from South America, who immigrated to Eretz Israel in a non-way way as part of Aliyah Bet. Arrived in Israel in 1947 at the beginning of the War of Independence and immediately went to the Negev, where he was a machine gunner. In 1949 he moved to Kibbutz Eilon for further training, where he worked in the agricultural machinery workshop. Was one of the first to immigrate to Al-Qassam and then to Kibbutz Gaash. Took a stand among his friends in the kibbutz and above all considered the work. He went on voluntary training and despite his adult age, he was doing well. After finishing the service said to marry. He fell in battle near Dweima on 10.9.1956 and was brought to rest in a volcano.
