Fridlin, Gedeon


Son of Tovah and Dov, was born on February 6, 1929 in Kfar Sava, grew up and was educated in the village. After completing his studies at the local elementary school, he moved to the Max Payne vocational school in Tel Aviv and studied frameworks And mechanics. After completing his studies, he was hired as a worker in the “Egged” garage and was a member of the Hanoar Haoved union. Gideon was a member of the Haganah from his youth, dealt with the removal of illegal immigrants, and participated in ambushes against Arab gangs. He participated in the battles of Ein Shemer, Wadi Ara, Latrun, Sakia, Hiriya, Tel Litvinsky, Arab Kfar Saba, Rosh Ha’Ayin, And Migdal Tzedek, on July 15, 1948, his company replaced another company from the brigade in the positions east of Kula, and was not yet able to prepare and dig in properly on the spot. The company retreated, which fell on the 17th of Tammuz 5708 (17.7.1948). He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Netanya. After his death his father changed his surname to his son’s name: Gidoni.
