Frenkel, Yinon

Son of Aryeh and Tzipora. He was born on April 17, 1944 in Tel Aviv. He studied and completed his elementary studies at the Borochov school in Givatayim. Afterward, he studied at the Kalai High School and completed the military boarding school near the Reali School in Haifa. He recently studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in the Departments of Education and Sociology. For many years he was a member of the Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed movement and also a member of the Air Force, and he also taught at the Aerobics Club in Beit Emanuel, Ramat Gan, where youth training was close to his Lev and the one that brought him at the end of his military service to the Hebrew University And his love for animals and nature was great, and during all his free time he would “sail” to all corners of the country as he strolled and enjoyed, loved to sink into reading and thus acquired a great deal of knowledge. Inon was a member of the “Meitav” nucleus, who later joined the Tzora farm, where he drove a herd of sheep and goats, where he found his girlfriend Haim and both of them Roux live in Jerusalem. July 1962 was drafted into the IDF and served as a paratrooper. When he was in the army, he was sent to a training program at the “youth center” of “HaNoar HaOved” in Kfar Ata, which at that time was a neglected, neglected and in need of rehabilitation. He invested physical and spiritual labor in this place, and in his labor he saw a blessing. After his discharge from the army, he went to reserve duty and even during the Six-Day War gave this service. On the second day, on the 27th of Iyar 5727 (June 6, 1967), he fell in the assault of his company on the stronghold of the Jordanian Legion; It was in a battle in Jerusalem when he was hit by an enemy mortar shell when his men broke through the police school’s fences. A wife left about ten months of happiness after their marriage. Yinon knew how to appreciate the strength of the IDF and knew that the end of the victory would come, but he did not see it in his eyes, and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. In his book “Marianos Gabro” of the paratroopers’ headquarters, his history and description of his last sacrifice were presented in the Information Bulletin and the local life of the Givatayim municipality. His name was commemorated and his memory was mentioned in “The Book of the Fallen.” And a description of his last offering was presented in the book “Nizkor” published by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Student Union, De civil.
