Freimovitch, Yonah (“Unileh”)


Yonah ben Yekutiel-Zalman and Sonia, was born on the 16th of Tishrei, October 2, 1955 in Be’er Sheva. He attended elementary school in Moshav Tifrah and studied in Ponevezh Yeshiva in Bnei Brak. He was a devoted son to his parents and a true friend to his brother Yacob. Yonah was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in November 1973. After completing basic training, and after completing his course in the field training course, he was sent to a unit of the Signal Corps in Sinai, where he volunteered to serve in the permanent army with the IDF. On the 17th of Adar 2, March 19th, 1976, Yona fell during army duty and was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Be’er Sheva. Yonah left behind his parents and brother. His family donated a Torah scroll, in his memory to the synagogue his hometown.
