Freiling, Ariah
Son of Zvi and Penny. He was born in Kiryat Ata on January 31, 1955. He completed his studies at the “Lohamei Hagetaot” elementary school and then completed three years of high school in the chemical and phosphate high school in Haifa. He loved his work, excelled at it, and was admired by his teachers and teachers, and spent most of his free time playing sports, especially playing soccer and basketball. He also grew up as an apprentice in the Gadna, where he was involved in organizing trips and social events. He had a lot of friends who appreciated him for his virtues and his easy nature. He was kind, sociable, kind and full of joy, and was known as an honest, responsible and thorough boy. But most of all he excelled in his loyalty and concern for his family, and especially for his parents who were Holocaust survivors. Arieh was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in early May 1973. After completing basic training and completing his tank course, he was assigned to a battalion in the tank brigade in the north of Israel, where he served as a tank gunner. When he was in the course, he asked to be transferred to the Ordnance Corps in order to work in his profession, thereby bringing great benefit and even gaining experience, but his request was rejected. On Sunday, June 1, 1974, (1.6.1974), Arieh fell in his duty in the Um-Butana area of the Golan Heights. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. Survived by his parents and two brothers.
