Franco, Yehezkel
Son of Simcha and David was born on March 19, 1919, in the Old City of Jerusalem. When the siege of Jerusalem began, he was called to positions and he set out to fulfill his duty of protection. On Saturday, when the standstill was announced in the positions facing Sheikh Jarrah and Batei Milner, all the people in the area were concentrated in these positions and Yechezkel was among them. On 27 March 1948, he fell in the Milner homes when he was shot in the head by a sniper from Sheikh Jarrah and died before being given first aid. He was buried in Sanhedria. He left behind a wife, a daughter and a son. On September 19, 1951, he was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
