Fox (Foxy), Asaf Moshe

Fox (Foxy), Asaf Moshe

Son of Shulamit and Yehuda. He was born on October 12, 1981 in Kibbutz Gvat in the Jezreel Valley. A younger brother to Avivit and a older brother to Alon. Assaf, who wore the golden curls, whose skin was the color of mocha, was born on the harvest festival and as it was, everything was gathered around him. His second name was given to him in memory of his uncle Moshe, his father’s twin brother, who was killed in the Yom Kippur War. Asaf’s bright smile and radiant eyes were an inseparable part of his personality. His early childhood years were pleasantly enjoyed in the kibbutz’s nursery schools and kindergartens. On Saturdays, he traveled with the family members among the cotton grains or jumped into the playground at nearby Kibbutz Ramat David. As early as his early childhood, Assaf had shown great interest in motorized tools: tractors, cars, mopeds, shovels, etc. He was familiar with the kibbutz fleet, who controlled their situation and always knew which car was in the garage and what was its problem. He himself ran a mini-garage; he was often lying on the carpet, taking out his car trunk and sunk into the game. And when he got the new jeep from Grandfather and Grandpa, he raced back and forth between the kibbutz paths. The love of driving remained embedded in him and later became a great driver. Assaf began his studies at the Sagi Elementary School in Kibbutz Sarid and continued on to the junior high school and regional high school in the western valley of nearby Kibbutz Yifat, which he completed in a theoretical track. His Bar Mitzvah year was characterized by a succession of group tasks, at the end of which, as was the tradition of the kibbutz, there was a festive ceremony to mark the event and a class performance. As early as his first year in the division, Asaf was a charismatic, dominant and sociable figure. He was surrounded by a lot of friends and he talked a lot about class and caused storms in the classroom. When he reached the 10th grade, he chose the Mevar track, a course in which he studied full matriculation in a slightly different format, and then he collected himself, began to invest in studies and showed seriousness, and his wit and sense of humor bordered on cynicism. His classmate says: “Assaf – naughty, black eyes and always laughing, beloved girls. Assaf with the long, thin hands that come everywhere, with the smell of the nouvelles after the break … Assaf that in the difficult moments of the class – and there were – was the conscience and took responsibility and signaled all the border and said what is right and what is not … Always hurry, “Asaf was an athletic body and he played a lot of sports – his shape was narrow – and he remained like that – even when he tried to get fat, he loved soccer and every Friday afternoon he went down to the athletic field and played with all the guys. Was an expert on cameras, he dismantled and dismantled electrical products, and when he encountered a mechanical problem or a malfunctioning device he sat down, studied the fault, found its source and repaired it Tea as he explains in detail what is required to do if the malfunction is repeated. In eleventh grade was given a room B’naorim and customary kibbutz, separate from the house. He began to take care of aesthetics and nurtured his appearance, while investing in small details, self-aware. That same year he went to Poland as part of a school delegation. For him, the trip constituted a kind of significant closure of a circle as a grandson of a Holocaust survivor. During the tour he took care to photograph every male and female and returned full of pride, stories, experiences and especially – with a deeper understanding of the subject. At the end of his studies he worked for a while in Pardes, on the kibbutz. He would wake up every night to spray the orchards and, as usual, devoted himself to the matter, invested and showed responsibility. Later on he went to a lifeguard course, completed it successfully and served as a lifeguard with the blessing of the kibbutz until his enlistment. Asaf’s friends, who accompanied him from the time of the school, were a special and close group: they were full partners in every experience and adventure – mud trips and jeeps,Soccer on the beach, trips to the Sea of Galilee and many meetings. Assaf, nicknamed “Foxy,” was the mainstay of the group – initiating activities, organizing entertainment and always at the center of things. Much of his life at that time was taken by Keren, whom he met in 10th grade. Then they were good friends, even after school. Keren relates: “Foxy had humor and a clear vision of life, he gave advice or accepted the opinions of others …” In the 12th grade, the two went on an annual trip to Eilat, where they returned as a loving couple and have not been separated since. At the end of that year, the two moved in together, and their friendship deepened and continued even after they both enlisted, spending weekends with family and friends, going to the beach, spending time dancing and dancing. The character is optimistic that no event or party could have existed without him. “In November 2000, Assaf enlisted in the IDF with the clear knowledge that he was heading for Quizzes. It was already a family tradition and for him it was obvious. He was assigned to the ‘Raven’ unit and was trained as a combat soldier. He went on to many courses, including the paramedics’ course and the Amarim course. His determination, his investment, his willpower and his ambition were expressed in all the roles he filled, as befitting the “poison.” “A real fighter,” his sister called him. He showed leadership ability, never expressed fear or aversion, and it was clear to him that he had to do his job in the best way possible. His teammates testify that they trusted him with his eyes closed and that he instilled confidence and a calm atmosphere. Naturally, Assaf had a significant part of the team experience, humor and laughter. When Assaf came home for vacations, the excitement was great. His mother would take care of the delicacies he loved and the quality around him. As usual, Assaf and Keren would travel for a walk, each time staying in another dreamy cabin, indulging, refilling batteries and returning, ready for the next period. They often talked about starting a family and began to dream about their future, but seven months before Assaf was released, the dreams were cut off. On the 8th of Adar 2, 2003, Assaf fell in a battle in Kfar Sida at the age of 20. Assaf commanded a team that took part in an operational activity against the Hamas and Islamic Jihad infrastructure in the village of Saida in the Tulkarem area. In the course of the battle, one of the terrorists was killed and the other two surrendered and surrendered to the IDF. Asaf’s commanders testified that he had shown rare courage and acted with determination, coolness and circumstances. He was buried in the military section of the cemetery in his kibbutz, Gvat. Survived by parents, sister and brother. “You were a kind of happy little man with so much character, so much joy, so much passion and joy of life … You were one of the funniest, funny and cynical people who lived among us, and it was a privilege to spend On the one hand, you can laugh at anything and quickly change into a serious, considerate, responsible and even worrisome person. , The evils and joy you have spread. ” His family wrote: “Assaf’s way envelops every detail, moment, place and corner, and the sense of humor that has existed and will never be lost: his presence and memories will continue to guide, lead and delineate the action and life because there is no one who loved life more thanAnd … a whole world, an assemblage of creation, growth, education, cultivation, investment, observation, contentment and happiness that in a split second stood at attention. “
