Flieg, Jan

Son of Sophia and Alexander. Jan was born on 21.9.1970 in Odessa, the eldest son of his parents, Marina’s eldest brother, and immigrated to Israel in 1990. He joined the Israel Police on March 7, 1993. He served in the Negev region Yan lived in Be’er Sheva with his wife Yelena, and his two sons, Guy and Yonatan, were killed in the course of his duties on June 18, 2011. He is forty years old and has died. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Be’er Sheva and left a wife, two sons, a parents and a sister, and his loved ones wrote on Jan’s gravestone: “Every passing day, the longing grows. A smile, a gaze that we shall cherish forever. “
