Flam, Avihu (“Avi”)


Son of Nathan and Paula. Born on 28.10.1948 in Kibbutz Gan Shmuel After graduating from elementary school, he attended high school in Kibbutz Eilon. He was a member of Hashomer Hatzair. In the same year he completed his high school studies, he was drafted into the IDF in August 1966 and assigned to the Armored Corps, soon to be promoted to the Armored Corps course, where he became an officer. On March 21, 1968, a reprisal operation was carried out against the Jordanian sabotage bases, known as the Karameh operation (the town east of the Jordan in which they were concentrated and from which the enemy saboteurs went to Israel) And as part of his unit he participated as a deputy commander of the tank division, and he was taken to the eternal rest of the cemetery at Kibbutz Eilon. Came second lieutenant rank of lieutenant. A booklet in his memory contains material about him. His name was also immortalized in the book of the municipality in Poland, where his parents lived. A comrade who participated in Operation Karameh made a mosaic and donated it to the neighborhood synagogue in Bat Yam.
