Flakser, Erez

Erez, son of Aviva and Ze’ev Flakser, was born in Haifa in 1981. After completing his studies, Erez enlisted in the IDF and served in the air force as a pilot in the regular army, and after his discharge he continued to serve in the reserves as a pilot. Major Erez fell during combat duty on 1 Nissan, March 12, 2013, in an accident in which he crashed from his helicopter near Kibbutz Revadim, east of Gedera. Erez was thirty-one years old when he fell. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Herzliya. Survived by his wife and son, mother, two brothers and a sister.
