Fishman, Gershon


Son of Chaya and Shmuel, was born on December 6, 1928, in the city of Nerghze, Hungary. He finished elementary school and specialized as a dental technician. During World War II, the Holocaust passed all the horrors of time and was saved. In 1946 he arrived in Israel on the illegal immigrant ship Haganah. Gershon lived in Beer Yaakov and served for about a year as a guard. He joined the Haganah, completed a sniper course, served in the “Kiryati” Brigade and fell while performing his duties near Abu Kabir on the day of the 22nd of Nissan 5708 (1948). The enemy bullet entered his mouth and died twenty minutes later. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak.
