Fischer, Shlomo-Yehuda

Son of Clara-Chaya and Moshe, was born on January 7, 1928 in Romania. He survived the horrors of the war and at the end of World War he returned to his studies in a high school. In the meantime, he received the message of the War of Independence that was being waged in Israel, and he immigrated to Israel on May 1, 1948. As soon as he arrived, he joined the army and took part in a number of operations, the last of which was Operation Yoav, which led to the breakthrough to the Negev. Shlomo-Yehuda fell in battle on the 19th of Tishrei, 5709 (October 19, 1948). On the 12th of Tevet, 21.12.1950, he was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
