Fischer, Moshe-Shabtai


Moshe Shabtai, son of Chava and Abraham, was born on 24 August 1946 in Alshed, Romania, and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1948. He studied at the elementary school in Ramat Yishai and continued his studies at the Kiryat Tivon High School . After completing his studies at the Air Force Technical School, he studied electronics. Moshe was a diligent and talented student. In his youth, he was a member of the Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed movement and traveled extensively throughout the country with his friends in the movement and with the family. In his youth, he was very active in sports and excelled in handball and soccer and swimming. He devoted many hours to his hobby – electronics, and much to build, dismantle and assemble electronic devices and accessories. Literature was one of his favorite occupations and he read many books in various fields. Moshe was a wise and honest boy, honest and responsible. His relationship with his parents was based on mutual understanding and great love, and as his parents testify, they had not only a son but also a friend. Moshe was drafted into the IDF in September 1964 and volunteered for the Israel Air Force After completing his basic training, he was assigned to an Air Force technician as an electronics technician. In the unit, everyone knew him as a dedicated soldier, responsible for his position and of a high professional level. After his discharge from the regular service, he was assigned to reserve duty in the Artillery Corps and was called annually for periods of active reserve duty. When he returned to civilian life, he was hired by Elbit and succeeded in his role. Soon he went up the ranks in his new job and was later sent abroad as part of his work, and visited England and Sweden. Later Moshe married a wife and later his eldest son Ido was born. He lived with his family in Ramat Yishai and despite his many occupations he managed to complete his matriculation exams and planned to study at the Technion in Haifa. On the 14th of Tevet 5714 (14.1.1974) Moshe fell during reserve service in the north of Israel and was brought to eternal rest at the Ramat Yishai cemetery, leaving behind a wife, son, parents and sister. : “All of us – the officers and soldiers of the unit – were screened and loved Moshe, who was an exemplary soldier, a dedicated fighter and a loyal friend.”
