Fischer, Moritz
He was born in 1920 in Germany and immigrated to Palestine in 1933. He served as a policeman in 1939. After World War II, he was one of the first volunteers in the British army and was assigned to the British Expeditionary Force. Was sent to Sudan and from there to the scene of the fighting in Eritrea, where he was wounded and died on16 Iyar, May 13, 1941. He was laid to rest at the British Military Cemetery in Asmara, in Eritrea. He was immortalized in the book “Yizkor” Jabotinsky and the “Yearbook of Journalists”, 1946. He was 19 years old when he died.
