Fine, Wolf


Son of Dina and Shlomo, was born on the 26th of June 1919 in the city of Zamosc, Poland. When he was six, on July 28, 1925, he immigrated with his parents to Israel. After graduating from elementary school in Afula, where the parents settled as farmers, he went on training in several of the valley’s communities. He belonged to the Hanoar Haoved movement. Was a member of the Haganah from his youth and from the first to volunteer everywhere; And for a number of years he was a member of the Palmach, learned mechanics and behavior and was accepted as a mechanic at “Shahar” company. (April 22, 1948) – the day of the conquest of Haifa – a wolf fell in a battle near Kfar Hasidim, and a shachar passenger car broke down that day and was sent to be repaired together with his colleague, Shraga Goodes. When he returned in the car on the Nesher-Yagur road there was a battle between the Arab Legion and the Haganah. By participating in this battle, he and his friend were killed when they kissed them. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. He left a wife and two children, Yitzhak and Ariela.
