Fine, Dina

Daughter of Milka and Yehuda. She was born on November 29, 1925 in Nahalal in the Jezreel Valley. After a while she moved with her family to Nahalat Yehuda, where her father served as a guard. She graduated cum laude from the Habib School in Rishon Letzion and graduated from the Tel Aviv Gymnasium in Tel Aviv. From her youth she was active in the Hanoar Haoved movement and when she was sixteen, she joined the ranks of the Palmach, and was committed to ideals and aspiration to fulfill them, yet she was aware of the suffering of others and devoted much of her time to helping her friends and the needy. She was sent to the course of division commanders in Juara (later Ein Hashofet). Due to the difficult life in the area – poor sanitary conditions, a poor agriculture and a harsh training regime – Dina fell ill with typhoid fever and on 26 Cheshvan, 6 November 1942, she died of this disease. She was laid to rest in the old cemetery in Rishon LeZion. Was commemorated in “The Book of Nahalat Yehuda – the Fiftieth Anniversary”.
