Feldman, Menachem (Manny)


Son of Malka and Yosef. He was born on the 18th of Av 5736 (18.8.1976) in Kiryat Bialik. Brother to the spear. Manny attended the Habonim elementary school and the Ort Afek junior high school in Kiryat Bialik and the Kiryat Haim high school in Kiryat Haim. Manny was a fan of basketball and soccer, and an equally loyal fan of Maccabi Haifa. At the end of November 1995, Meni was drafted into the IDF, underwent basic training for Givati, and was apprenticed to Hiram, where he served as an operations sergeant at the Beaufort outpost in the eastern sector of southern Lebanon On the evening of 28 February 1997, When the two Yasur helicopters collided over Moshav Shear Yashuv, and the seventy-three fighters, who made their way to operational activity in Lebanon, were killed, among them Meni Mani, who was laid to rest in the military section of the Tzur Shalom cemetery in Kiryat Bialik. Survived by his parents and sister, Chief of Staff Amnon Lipkin-Shahak wrote in a condolence message to the family: “Menahem served as a sergeant for operations in the Hiram formation of P. North code, and was described by his superiors professional and dedicated soldier, doing his job responsibly and demonstrated high motivation to serve at the front. Menachem ballet willingness to donate and help those around him at all times, and was liked and accepted by superiors and fellow travelers. ” In another letter of consolation, the unit’s commander, Col. Kobi Marom, wrote: “The war on the defense of the north and its residents takes us, over and over, our best soldiers and sons, and this was Manny – the best, dedicated, responsible, investor, exemplary soldier. Give and contribute. ” Manny’s parents commemorated their son by a basketball tournament held at the end of May 1997.
