Feir (Fire), Azriel (Isaac)


Son of Sarah-Mirel and Abraham, was born on January 1, 1926, in Krasnick, in the Lublin district of Poland. He graduated from elementary school and studied tailoring. During the Second World War he was tortured in the camps of Bozhin, Mauthausen and Dachau, and since the liberation in 1945 he lived in the city of Trenstein near Munich and worked in his profession. In the spring of 1948, when he learned about the War of Independence, he volunteered in Germany for the IDF, and from there he immigrated to Israel on September 13, 1948. Azriel served in the Palmach and took part in the attacks on the Iraqi-Suweidan Police and later on the “Yoav” operation to break through to the Negev, which was attacked by the Egyptian forces in Iraq Al-Manshiyya, (16.10.1948) was buried in Gethsemane on the 29th of Tishrei 5710 (29.9.1949) was transferred to the eternal rest of the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak.
