Feinzel, Yitzhak


Son of Moshe and Dina. He was born on July 25, 1929 in Istanbul, Turkey, and after his birth his family moved to Sofia, Bulgaria, where he graduated from elementary school. He was a member of the Ha – Shomer ha – Tsa’ir youth movement in Bulgaria. After surviving the hardships of the Second World War, he immigrated to Israel in 1948 and joined Kibbutz Hashomer Hatzair, Ein Hamifratz. When his parents immigrated to Israel in 1949, he left the kibbutz to help them. Yitzhak was drafted into the IDF in early January 1950 and served as a battalion weapon in a infantry brigade. After his discharge from the army, he began working for the Israel Electric Corporation in Ashdod. He married him and sat down in the streets. While serving in the reserves he underwent weapons training and was transferred to the Ordnance Corps. He served in the Sinai Campaign and the Six-Day War and fulfilled his difficult task with responsibility and precision. On 30 May 1973, Corporal Yitzhak died during his service, leaving a wife, a daughter and a son, and he was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Rehovot, where his letter of condolence praised his dedicated service And Yitzhak’s trustee for the IDF, added: “The late Yitzhak came to our unit five years ago. Since then he has done his duty faithfully and with dedication and without any complaints. He served willingly and was ready for any role. His service and devotion will serve as an example to all those who follow him. “
