Feinstein, Zvi


Son of Hannah and Jacob, was born on 15.6.1927 in the city of Pallinice near Warsaw and acquired a thorough education. Zvi passed through all the horrors of the Holocaust, and in 1946 immigrated to Israel with a group of immigrants from La Spezia on the famous illegal immigration ship “Pada” (“Dov Hoz”). Together with his friends, he fought for his right to immigrate and fulfilled his will. In Israel, he joined the Tel Yitzhak group and worked there as a carpenter. He was devoted to his work and during his free time would enjoy his friends in his variety. From the day of his arrival in Israel he was a member of the Haganah, in accordance with all his duties. At the outbreak of the War of Independence, he volunteered for the fortification of the Nitzanim group and, upon his first call, joined the army and served in the Alexandroni Brigade. On the day of the declaration of the State of Israel, he fell in battle on the Arab village of Tira, Tulkarm District, and was brought to rest in the cemetery at Kibbutz Tel Yitzhak.
