Feinbach, Jacob


Son of-Sarah and Shmuel-Moshe was born on August 8, 1921 in the city of Essen in western Germany to parents who emigrated from Poland after World War I. He attended elementary school and in 1933 fled with his parents and three brothers to Paris. He was educated in Nahalal and moved with his group to settle in Nahalat Yehuda near Rishon Letzion, where he volunteered for the British army and was later joined by the Jewish Brigade. In battles in North Africa and Italy, and reached Germany, searching all the survivors’ camps, but found no trace of his family When he was discharged from the army, he retired from the kibbutz and settled in Tel Aviv as a bakery laborer and was known as an excellent soccer player, and at the beginning of the War of Independence was drafted into a division of the Alexandroni Brigade.
