Feiga, Reuven (Rudolph)


Son of Henrietta and Siegfried, was born on January 27, 1889 in the city of Breslau, Germany, and completed his studies at the University of Breslau. During the First World War he served in the German Army as a meteorology officer in the Zeppelins Unit. In 1935 he immigrated to Israel. That same year, “Maccabiah” was held in Israel and he organized the theme of sports aviation. During the British Mandate he was appointed Director of the Israel Meteorological Service and after the establishment of the State was responsible for the transfer of this service of the Mandate Government to an Israeli unit. Before immigrating to Israel and even later contributed to the literature professional writing articles and books in German, English and Hebrew. His research and studies include: “Atmospheric disturbances in wireless absorption”, “Medicine, climate and weather”, “The relationship between rheumatism and meteorological phenomena”, “The rain Atlas of the Land of Israel”, “The climate of the Land of Israel” Atmospheric dust “. During the War of Independence he served in a meteorological unit based in Jerusalem and on the 28th of Iyar 5708 (28.5.1948) he fell while carrying out his duties. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Sanhedria in Jerusalem. He left a wife and a son.
