Meir, son of Rivka and Shlomo, was born on 21 February 1952 in Haifa. He studied at the Rambam religious elementary school in the Neve Sha’anan neighborhood, and later studied at the Bnei Akiva yeshiva in Kiryat Shmuel, where he grew up and was educated in the spirit of Jewish tradition and faith in the God of Israel , And he absorbed the values ​​of the Jewish faith and stuck to them, so it was only natural that he chose to concentrate on the study of the Holy Torah and studied in the schools in which he studied Torah. He was drafted into the IDF in early November 1970 and assigned to the Armored Corps. After basic training, he paid a tank training course and was sent to serve in a unit of the armored corps in the Sinai. After a period of service, he was sent to a tank commanders course, and after successfully completing his service he returned to serve in the Sinai as a tank commander. Meir was an outstanding soldier and an excellent professional. He fulfilled his duties with precision and perfection, and his commanders and Ehud accepted his comrades in the unit. Thanks to his excellence in carrying out the tasks assigned to him, he was appointed sergeant sergeant and promoted to the rank of First Sergeant. In this role he could discover his many talents, as a man of armor and commander.
