After completing an officer’s course, he was assigned to serve at the training base for recruits, first as platoon commander, and then as deputy company commander. Was devoted to his job, stood out in his diligence and showed a desire to learn and expand his knowledge. His great concern and devotion to his students and subordinates was also expressed in letters of thanks and appreciation received from the soldiers’ parents who were under his command. As a token of appreciation, his commanders sent him to a parachuting course. On the 29th of Kislev 5756 (29.11.1995) Lt. Lior fell in the line of duty, almost twenty-one and a half years old, and was brought to eternal rest in the Haifa military cemetery, leaving behind his parents, brother and sister, And even his desire to learn communications and travel the world did not materialize.
