Ben-Tikkud and Abdallah. Kamal was born in the Druze village of Beit Jann on 7.8.1958. He grew up and was educated in his native village. Kamal served in the Israel Defense Forces from 1976 to 1979, and was evaluated by his commanders as a disciplined and devoted soldier. Kamel joined the Israel Prison Service in April 1980, and was placed in Ayalon Prison as a security guard and as a replacement. In 1983, at his request, he was transferred to Jenin, where he served in a variety of security positions. His commanders described him as a diligent jailer who volunteered to perform tasks, showed initiative and fulfilled every role faithfully and devotedly. On April 21, 1986, he was awarded the outstanding Prisoner’s Medal. On this day, thanks to his alertness, resourcefulness, courage, and swift action, he saved the life of a prisoner by not hanging himself in his cell in the separation barrier. Kemal wore the seniority badge. Kamal married Jamila and was the father of Raja, Hana, Wafa, Wala and Jamal. On Thursday, November 8, 1990, during the course of his mission in Jenin, an advanced sergeant Kamal was stabbed with a knife by one of the prisoners, who served as a member of the team today, along with another warden, six guards and a commander. He went to his side and was stabbed under the collarbone, and Kemal managed to inform the officer in charge of the incident as he ran toward the entrance, collapsed and died during his medical treatment. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Beit Jann, leaving a wife and five children.
