Falah, Avraham (“Berto”)
Son of Refael Vadia. He was born in Tripoli, Libya, on March 23, 1934. Avraham attended elementary school in that city, and in 1949 immigrated to Israel with his parents, and as a construction worker he joined the workers of the building in Daughter of-Yam and thus found his livelihood. 1952 was drafted into the IDF and was in the Armored Corps. He participated in the Sinai Campaign and at the outbreak of the Six-Day War was also among the fighters. On July 7, 1967, after the end of the war, the Egyptians opened fire in the area of Qantara and in the exchange of fire an Egyptian shell hit the turret of his tank, killing him and the tank commander. Of the enemy, a wife and two children, was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, and a book about his life and characteristics was mentioned in the book “On Your Platforms of Space”.
