Fahima, Meir


Ben Etoile and Shalom. He was born on May 1, 1961 in Kadima. A brother about me, Mazal, Danny, my son and Rachel. He studied at the Or Torah religious elementary school in Kadima and continued to Ort high school in Netanya, where he graduated with honors and studies in carpentry. In August 1979 Meir enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces as a combat soldier in the Golan Heights, where he continued to serve in the Keren army base in the Golan Heights, and worked in the field of communications and electronics. Lathy and they lived in Katzrin, where their three children were born: Nathalie, Ortal and Lidor, who was a devoted husband and father, who raised his children to glory, and was a devoted fan of Beitar Jerusalem. After 15 years of service in the Golan Heights and living in Katzrin, Meir moved to serve at the Na’ura base near Afula, and the family moved to Hadera. Meir, “Miro” by all, was loved by all his acquaintances, commanders and soldiers. Everyone loved to help, and everything was done very modestly. In all his actions he brought great honor to his parents, and became the pride of the family. In 2000, prior to his discharge from the IDF, he began to study business administration at the university, and after a year and a half he completed his studies, received a bachelor’s degree and began planning the second stage of his life, the civil stage. Meir fell in a terrorist attack near Afula. That morning he took a bus on line 823 of Egged, from his home to the base. On the way, at a shady intersection in Wadi Ara, a suicide bomber blew himself up and seven of the passengers, including Meir, were killed. Sgt. Shimon Edrei, Sergeant Michael Altpiro, Corporal Aharon Revivo, and citizens Alon Goldberg, Magus Mehartu and Bella Schneider. He was forty-one years old when he fell. After his death he was promoted to the rank of counterrevolutionary. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Hadera. Survived by a wife and three children, parents and five brothers and sisters. To Meir’s memory, his father donated a book of Haftarot, Siddurim and a Torah scroll to synagogues in Kadima and Netanya. His mother donated a lamp and arrangements to the synagogue in her youth.
