Ezekiel, Ezekiel


Son of Juliet and Nuri, was born on November 15, 1962 in Or Yehuda. Yehezkel studied at Hillel Elementary School and at the Or Yehuda Comprehensive School. He loved sports, practiced judo and karate. At a young age Yechezkel went to work to help support his family. He worked in odd jobs in various professions, and what he did was done with dedication and precision. He was diligent and quick in his work, and did not refuse any job, worked as a construction worker, an electrician and a car mechanic. Yehezkel was a favorite of his friends, and they loved to spend time with him. In October 1980, Yehezkel enlisted in the IDF, and after completing basic training, he took a driving course and eventually took up a position as the deputy battalion commander of his unit. He was noted, who functioned “in an excellent, disciplined, responsible manner.” On the 24th of Elul 5743 (August 24, 1983), when he traveled in the Golan Heights, his vehicle overturned and he was killed. He was 21 years old when he died. The commander of his unit wrote to his family: “He passed the Peace for Galilee war with his unit, was accepted by his friends, he was responsible and dedicated, and he fulfilled his role in the best possible manner.” Yehezkel was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul in Tel Aviv.
