Ben Miriam and my father. Born on the 24th of Av 5742 (24.7.1982) in Tiberias, a younger brother of Benny, Sigal and Miki, as a young son whose brothers were nine years older than him, Elad received a lot of love, attention and pampering from all of them. Elad began his studies at the Ehrlich Elementary School in Tiberias, continued at the Kinar School and completed his high school studies at the Amal Bama School in Tiberias where he completed 12th grade with an excellent matriculation certificate in physics majors And computers. Computers were his great love. He spent hours at the computer, knew how to program and was the address for solving problems in this area to all his friends. He also helped the computer teacher in school, and installed anti-virus software for all the computers. At the end of his military service Elad planned to study computers at the Technion. Elad was a smart young man, shy and quiet, with a high morality, who behaved honestly with everyone. He liked to help, and he readily responded to any request for help, even from people he did not know. He was always careful about the dignity of people, and even for animals he had a special attitude – he had been saddened by children when he saw children cruel to abandoned animals and treated animals and fed them. Elad, who did not like attention, was never the “center of attention” socially, but gathered around him a large group of friends with whom he liked to spend, study or play soccer. The “computer children” called them, boys with love of love and a love of the homeland, who often engaged in computers, loved to study and spend time together. Elad was the one who unites the members, and more than once he would reconcile opponents. “His high school years passed smoothly,” said Siegel, his sister. “There is no sign that the teens are going through a good and disciplined change. He received what he demanded / did not demand much, and he did what he needed.” Elad loved life and the family, and used to bring presents to his little nieces at every opportunity. He smiled a lot, and had a witty, developed sense of humor. When he was 14 he went on a trip to the United States and Canada with his mother and sister. He enjoyed the trip and the “discovery” of America along with his beloved family. After he enlisted, when he was on vacation, he made sure to spend time with the family, go with his father to the synagogue and only then go out to have fun. During the period between high school and enlistment, Elad worked in hard physical jobs, such as cleaning beaches and washing dishes at a hotel. For some of the money he earned, he bought a television and a stereo system – watching movies and listening to music were two of his great hobbies – and he spent the rest of the money on a trip abroad after his service and studies. Already from the 10th grade he decided that he would be a combat soldier, since “someone has to be there” and “If everyone dodges, who will serve?” And to reach a high-profile combat unit he even lied and told the army that his allergy to dust had passed. “During his stay in the unit, Elad stood out in the spirit of his volunteering and readiness to carry out any mission, all modestly, energetically and with great joy, and Elad was accepted by his friends. And used to help and help with everything. ” Elad was chosen as the department’s excellant, but did not get to participate in the end ceremony of the route they announced it, a ceremony held about two weeks after his fall. In the army, too, Elad always had a smile on his face and a willingness to help. He took an interest in everyone, solved every problem, volunteered for every mission and went out to ambush more than anyone else. He did not confront any soldier, and always made sure to make peace and reconcile among his friends. “You have always had a golden heart and modest ambitions to defend the country, if it is the ambushes that gave you the name ‘Evogeni the ambush man’ and if it is to be an important part of the company morale,” says Vitali. On Monday,On February 14, 2002, Elad fell in an operational position near Shavei Shomron, while he was standing at the checkpoint at the Cochin junction east of Tulkarm, was shot by a Palestinian sniper and killed on the spot. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Tiberias, leaving behind his parents, two brothers and a sister, from his mother’s words: “Our little child, our tender child, our dear Elad, my dear son. Tears choke my throat. From the day you left I was not me. My dear son yelled at me, Blow my way to you my dear son. Crying out to you from the depths of my soul, dreaming of you. My mother called me, my mother. My sweet Elad has left us, the longing is intense and we are so agonizing. From the day the terrible disaster occurred, our lives became a problem. I’ll remember you forever, that beautiful, perfect smile, the same upright, raised body, the same hands, the beloved touch, my soldier from the Haruv patrol. “His sister Sigal eulogized him:” My good brother Elad. I remember your two eyes and they are big and dead, and good, so good. All your life you have done well, in the entire universe there is no one who can testify that you have worsened with him … Elad my good brother. I dreamed about the moment when you would be released from the army and finally enjoy life. “I write and refuse to believe that I will not see you again, I do not understand that you can take from the world, to pick a good soul like you.” Shai, who was Elad’s high school teacher, wrote: “You were modest In your manner, you always reach out to anyone who needs it, always always with a smile on your face. I will remember you as a model student. “Elad’s teacher adds:” You were different in your character and approach to life, you were mature, understanding and accepting. You asked for the hard way to do things, you wanted to realize what you believed, all in a quiet and calm way. Despite your quietness and modesty, you were a hero. “Elad’s friends were, and will continue to be, a good person, too good, because apparently the nature of his heart the nature of the world could not bear. It seems that the saying ‘angels are only in heaven’ is correct. Elad joined them, apparently there is his natural place, apparently God knows who to choose … Elad went on a mission from which he did not return. With his smile full of innocence and youthful innocence, he joined the ministering angels. “And Siegel wrote:” A young man who is finished with maturity is about to end. A small child is placed in an order. He is supposed to be an adult and he still does not know how to behave. Once a big one is serious, and it’s taken into account that a big person is responsible and there is no room for smiles or games, and he is still confused but serious and responsible and behaves above all expectations and does not understand how life changed in seconds … And in the army he wanted to contribute, So he was naive and did not know that he would contribute his life / 234 months He had a whole life / I could never summarize in words / not reflect as It was good, intelligent, and sensitive to the needs of others / about what he thought and what he felt inside. / Every day that passes, the longing you prevail, / hope you have proper place – close to God. “
