Event, Aryeh


Son of Shoshana and Dov, was born in 1923 in Austria. He graduated from elementary school and found refuge in the Holocaust in England, which he arrived at the age of 15 and studied the profession of electricity. Aryeh volunteered for the British army, served in a paratroopers unit, participated in the invasion of Sicily, France, Norway and Germany. He rose to the rank of sergeant and fought in the ranks of the British army until victory. After his discharge from the army he left England and immigrated to Israel in 1947. When he arrived, he joined Kibbutz Ein Hahoresh and worked in his profession. He was a member of the Haganah and at the outbreak of the War of Independence he was immediately recruited for combat duty and served in the Alexandroni Brigade. On July 15, 1948, he fell in battle for the capture of Rosh HaAyin and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Netanya. After his fall, he was promoted to lieutenant
