Even, Amiad
Ben Sarah and Yehuda. He was born on May 9, 1970, in Moshav Ginton, where he completed his elementary studies at the Ben Shemen Youth Village, and completed his studies at the Ramla-Lod Regional High School in the humanitarian field. In late October 1988 and volunteered for the Paratroopers Brigade. After training, he was trained as a combat soldier and underwent a parachute training course and was later stationed in a infantry training facility, first as a recruits commander, later as a special units training instructor and finally as a special operations sergeant. According to his commander, he was a quiet soldier who did his job well. On the 21st of Av 5751 (August 1, 1991) Amiad fell during his service and was brought to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. He was survived by his parents, a brother – Assaf, and a sister – Maayan. In a letter of condolence to the family, his commander wrote: “In his role as a symbol of operations, Amiad became the central figure both in his youthful appearance and in his willingness and dedication to the job without leaving an open problem unresolved.”
