Etzion, Ze’ev (Zevik)

Zevik, Batya and Moshe Etzion’s eldest son, was born on March 4, 1959 in Givatayim. In 1990 he married Nava. The couple established their home in Kibbutz Nirim and raised their five children. Zevik was an exemplary family man, a loyal husband, a devoted son, a caring brother and a loving and involved father. Zevik also volunteered for Magen David Adom (Magen David Adom) and for seven years served as an emergency medic and MDA ambulance driver at Kibbutz Nirim.
In June 2014, rocket fire from the Gaza Strip to Israel increased, and as a result, Israel launched Operation Tzuk Eitan against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. On August 26, 2014, 30 Av, a mortar shell hit the kibbutz and Zevik was killed by shrapnel. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Nirim.
