Ettingoff, Michael


Son of Rivka and Shneur Zalman, was born in 1917 in Donetsk, Latvia. Even at a young age, he joined the Gordonia movement in his city. When he immigrated to Israel in March 1938, he spent a certain period of time in the Shimron group near Nahalal and later joined the Mishmarot group. He was an active member of the Haganah, from the day he arrived in Israel, guided his teammates, and after a course of commanding officers was a time commander of the place, and naturally the characteristics of the man and the protector, the soldier and the soldier. And on September 18, 1948, in a fierce face-to-face battle with the Iraqi army in the Ma’anit area, was hit in the stomach and killed on the spot. They left behind a wife, a boy and a girl, and on the first anniversary of his fall, his group published a pamphlet in his memory.
