Ettinger, Shua Daughter of Sheva
Daughter of Shalom and Rivka. She was born on September 10, 1939 in Tel Aviv. She began her elementary studies at the Carmel School, moved to Dubnow Elementary School, and then completed her studies at Geula High School in Tel Aviv. During the last year of her studies, she accompanied her family to Antwerp. When her father went there on a mission, she studied for several months at the Tachkemoni Jewish school, where in the middle of the school year she returned to Israel alone and took the matriculation exams with her classmates. She was talented and reached for literature; Several of her works have been published in various journals. She was one of the first founders of the “Youth for Youth” organization, which the Tel Aviv municipality established to train urban youth who study for the benefit of the disadvantaged youth in the suburbs and in the transit camps, in treatment and training. She also devoted herself to writing in Braille for the Library of the Blind. In 1956, she completed a course of “first aid” conducted by Magen David Adom. She was very devoted and devoted all her time to caring for paralyzed children. She had seen her life as a social counselor. She was drafted into the IDF in June 1957 and soon proved her leadership ability and was even sent to an officer’s course she successfully completed. When the group arrived at Massada on the 27th of Nisan 5749 (27.4.1959) she fell from shots that hit it. She was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. After her fall she was granted the rank of lieutenant. On behalf of the Department of Education, Culture and Youth of the Tel Aviv-Jaffa Municipality, a youth club was opened in the name of the member who fell with her, also a member of “Youth for Youth”.
