Ettinger, Isaac


Son of Shmuel and Chaya. He was born on the 1st of Adar 2, 1921 in the city of Podhica, Poland. He immigrated to Israel in 1933. He belonged to the Haganah and even to the non-profit non-profit movement in Mishmar Na’im since 1939. During the War of Independence, he held various positions in the Military Government, Intelligence and Security in the entire Galilee. After that, he became responsible for preventing smuggling in the Customs Department in the Western Galilee. Yitzhak spent most of his years in the Hagana and the State, and served in the Intelligence Corps for the last five years. He was a devoted and multi-faceted worker, who excelled in his proficiency and often endangered himself during his service at the borders. On the 18th of Sivan 5709 (18.6.1959) he fell in the line of duty and was put to rest at the military cemetery in Nahariya. After they fell, he was promoted from the rank of lieutenant colonel to captain. He left a wife and three children.
