Enu, Zev


Son of Henrietta and Mordechai. Born on April 14, 1515 in Duisburg, Germany, he studied the Hebrew language and at the age of 11 went to an elementary school where he studied for three years and was then assisted his parents in their shop. In the spring of 1933 he immigrated to Eretz Israel and joined the “Batlem” workers’ group, which was founded in Rishon Letzion and began to take root in the life of work and fulfillment. He later moved with his friends to Beitania in the Jordan Valley, where he was one of the first members of the company to immigrate to the land of Ein Gev. The new project, which was east of the Sea of ​​Galilee, was the happiest day of his life, and Zeev went to work in the Zeifzif group, the first pioneering enterprise in Ein Gev, but was prevented from continuing for a long time due to the illness of his father. At the time of the aliyah to Hanita (March 21, 1938), the recruits were to accompany the surveyors in the mountains, and for some time served as an armored commander and then joined the crew of the van which served as a mobile squad. On 15 Nisan, April 16, 1938, a few days before his return to Ein Gev, the new point was attacked and Ze’ev and his friends went out in a van to fight the attackers. On their way they encountered an ambush and Ze’ev was wounded by mortal wounds. He was laid to rest in the cemetery of his kibbutz and was the first to be buried in this cemetery. His kibbutz friends published a pamphlet in his memory; His name was also immortalized in the books “Hanita – on which the Haganah is defending” and “On the Way to the IDF.”
