Son of Eliyahu and Margalit. Born on the 27th of Tishrei 5758 (27.9.1957) in Jaffa, he began studying at the Gordon Elementary School in Holon and continued his elementary studies in Tel Aviv in the Arnon and Tzvi Shapira schools. Uzi was drafted into the IDF at the end of October 1975 and assigned to the Air Force. He was accepted into a pilot course. After a while he retired from the course and volunteered for the paratroopers. He took a parachuting course and was accepted to the infantry commander course. With his friends he followed the difficult and arduous route of journeys and navigations, exercises and training. He loved military service and strove to advance and become an officer. On the 27th of Iyar 5737 (10.5.1977), during the final exercise of a series of training, Uzi fell while carrying out his job in a helicopter crash in the Jordan Valley. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Nahalat Yitzhak near his grandfather, who was killed while trying to rescue a friend, and next to his uncle, who fell as a member of the security service. Survived by his parents and three sisters. His family commemorated his memory and established a study room in his name in the library at the Zvi Shapira school where he studied. In the newsletter “When the Shofar blooms” a list was published in memory of Uzi and the inauguration of the study room in his name.
