Emanu, Meir


Son of Sisi and Esther. He was born in 1936 in the city of Gepsa in Tunisia and studied in a French elementary school and in a “nursery” in Tunisia and France. He completed his elementary studies and continued his high school studies at Mikve Israel. In Israel, he was a member of the Bnei Akiva youth movement, but he was not particularly prominent in his activities, because he was modest and sat down. He was kind and loved to help anyone, large and small. As he grew older, he studied the electrical profession and worked for it to support it. Meir was drafted into the IDF at the end of October 1953. After completing compulsory service, he joined the regular army as a communications technician and served for five years, fulfilling his duties with dedication, loyalty and dedication. He was a husband and father who loved his family, worked in the territories beyond the Green Line, and traveled throughout their breadth and breadth to earn a living, and in July 1970 he received a summons to reserve duty. His job was to ride a mine in El Arish, leaving a wife and four daughters, his wife was pregnant and the daughter who was born after they fell was carrying His name – Meira – was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Ashkelon.
