Elzem, Moshe


Moshe ben Masoud z “l and Fartna, was born on the 16th of Heshvon, October 30, 1958 in Moshav Goren, where he completed elementary school and he studied mechanical frameworks at the Amal School in Nahariya. In February 1977 he was assigned to the Ordnance Corps and there he underwent a tank mechanic course. At the end of that year he was assigned to the Golani Brigade. During his service he asked to volunteer for the naval commando, but due to considerations of manpower regulation, his request was rejected. Moshe died during his service on the 6th of Tishrei 5739, October 7, 1978. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Shlomi, leaving behind a mother and sisters. Moshe was an exemplary soldier, responsible and disciplined. “Moshe’s death shocked all the soldiers of the unit, and his image will continue to accompany us for a long time.” Moshe’s family commemorated his memory by donating a curtain, a marble plaque and books to the synagogue.
