Elnekave, Israel

Israel, son of Sarah and Mordechai Elnque, was born in Tiberias in 1920. In the village of Birwa, near Acre, he dealt with the dismantling of a landmine in order to clear the way for his friends. He was wounded when the mine exploded and was brought to a hospital in Haifa. Israel died of his wounds on the 29th of Iyar 5708 (7.6.1948) and was brought to eternal rest in the Kfar Hasidim cemetery.
