Son of Masoud and Sarah. David was born on July 1, 1945 in Morocco, and his family settled in Kiryat Gat in 1961. David was very attached to his parents and supported them economically and morally. In 1966 David enlisted in the Israel Police and became a traffic policeman. David was known in the Negev Police as one of the best policemen. Civilians who encountered him during his police service were surprised by his courteous and educational behavior. In 1966, shortly before his enlistment in the police, David married Esther and the two built their home in Kiryat Gat. They had three sons and a daughter. David was very attached to his family and did everything for them. His love for his wife and children was a good thing. He also liked to cultivate his home and work in the garden. His friends say he was loved by all his friends because of his cheerfulness and his easy temperament. He used to sing, rejoice and entertain his friends at parties. On July 27, 1975, a man shot and killed two employees of the Licensing Office in Ashkelon. Sergeant Shani David, being in the area in a police vehicle, picked up the message that was broadcast on the incident. On his own initiative, without the task being assigned to him, he rushed to the place and, with great courage and extraordinary courage, tried to take control of the armed man, but he shot and killed David. David was thirty years old when he died in the military section of the Kiryat Gat cemetery on July 13, 1977. He left a wife with three sons and a daughter
