Eliyahu, Chaim
Chaim, son of Haviva and Ezra Eliyahu, was born on November 6, 1930 in Baghdad, Iraq. He immigrated to Israel in 1934, studied in an elementary school until the seventh grade, but then stopped studying. Chaim was accepted as an intern at the Dead Sea Works. He was a member of Hanoar Haoved. Without his parents’ knowledge, he joined the Palmach before the battle began, and fell on one of his activities on the 30th of Adar I 5708 (March 11, 1948) in the battle of Ein Arus, near Sodom. Chaim was brought to rest in the cemetery in Sanhedria, Jerusalem. He was seventeen and a half when he fell.
