Elisha, yaakov
Son of Eliyahu and Ema. yaakov was born on 29.11.1926 in Kfar Tavor in the Jezreel Valley. He studied at the local elementary school and afterwards gave all his Lev to agricultural work. At the end of the Second World War he moved from there to Yavne’el, where he divided his time between his farm and underground work, because his home served as a studio for the Hagana. During the War of Independence, he participated in various battles in the jezreel Valley and in the Jordan Valley as one of the Golani Brigade. On the 24th of Elul 5714 (22.9.1954), on the first anniversary of his marriage – and his wife at the time of her eighth month of pregnancy – he set out to fulfill his duties and on the way to Elhamah fell in battle. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Haifa. A month after his son was born, his son was named after him.
