Elisha, Gabriel


Son of Roza and Rafael. Gabriel was born on July 1, 1944 in Iran and was the second son of a family of six, and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1950. Upon their immigration, they lived in the Pardesiya transit camp and at the immigrant home in Netanya, In the veteran housing project in Netanya, until they moved to a permanent housing project in the Ramat Efrayim neighborhood of the city, where Gabriel graduated from the Alumot school at the age of 14. He left his studies at the age of fourteen to work and help his family financially, Gabriel worked in various temporary jobs until his enlistment in the IDF in 1963. During his military service he served as a Sherman tank driver and took part in the war Six days in the occupation of the Golan Heights. Gabriel was the only one who survived the inferno. After his military service, he worked at the plant factory “Plantex” and later as a postman in the Israeli post office. In June 1966 Gabriel enlisted in the Israel Police and served as a patrolman. His family describes Gabriel as a Simcha, smiling, smiling person, loved and loved by those around him, whom he saw as a policewoman who stood up to lend his hand to those in need of his help. Gabriel liked to stroll through nature and the beach near his home, a love that led him to see every corner of the State of Israel. On the 3rd of Adar 5731 (1973), Gabriel fell during his service at the age of 27. He was buried in the cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, Tel Aviv, leaving parents and brothers.
