Eliezer, Carmela (‘as’)


Daughter of Abraham and Ruhama. She was born on the 19th of Shevat 5707 (19.2.1956) in Jaffa, a fourth daughter of a Babylonian family, and from a young age she was known as a “man,” in which she was known to all the family and friends. And in elementary school she stood out among her classmates in cleanliness and in her orderly appearance, and her teachers used her notebooks to present them as an example to the other students, and she invested herself in studies and reading books, . From there she moved to the Hahal High School in Tel Aviv and chose a computer programming course. These studies excited her greatly and invested all her energies in them. The results were not long in coming – she had passed all the tests with great success. In addition to theoretical studies, she did not neglect body culture as well. She was successful in many sports and participated in games and competitions. She won medals in competitions between schools by long jump. She also took part in the activities of the Gadna, and was very fond of her peers, who were always surrounded by many classmates. Despite the religious background of her home and her education, she was not at all doubted to enlist in the service and to provide two precious years and all of her life. On September 1, 1974, she was recruited and assigned to the Navy, where she completed a basic training course, The whole profession is a very good grade, and with pride and joy she wore the navy’s impressive uniform and happily agreed to go down and serve at the base of the port of Eilat. The service of the man did not last long. The bitter fate of her predicament began in the army, and on one of the trips on the Arava Road, her promising young life was punctuated. She was brought to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, on January 15, 1975. She left behind her parents, two sisters, and two brothers, and as a man wrote to the bereaved parents: “As a symbol of purity and virtue The good ones. Concern for her parents, brothers and sisters.
