Eliel, Yosef (Yossi)


Yosef (Yossi), son of Hadassah and Moshe Eliel, was born in 1951 in the city of Hadera. In October 1969, he was promoted to a pilots’ course, where he became a combat pilot and served as a second squadron commander, and later commanded a squadron at the flight school, where he led the Aerobatics team. He studied at the College of Command and Staff. He was involved in the Yom Kippur War as a combat pilot, as well as in the air force’s assault on terrorist bases in Lebanon, and fell during his duty on 26 Sivan, 26 July 1986. Yosef was brought to eternal rest in the Hadera military cemetery. Survived by his wife, two daughters, parents and brother.
