Eliashkov, Michael


Son of Luba and Ben-Zion, was born on February 20, 1951, in Czhnyveli, Georgia. Michael was drafted into the IDF in August 1975 and sent to a short service period in the Artillery Corps. In the army, Michael was considered a good soldier, disciplined and responsible, and did what was best done to him, to the satisfaction of his commanders. During the period of his service, Michael took care of his parents’ finances and went to work during his vacations from the IDF in order to ease the burden of their livelihood. In December 1979, he was called up for reserve duty, and on 10 December 1979 he fell to the military cemetery on Mount Herzl, leaving behind a wife, two daughters, two parents, a brother and two sisters.
