Elias, Ziad

Son of and Dia and Anisa. Ziad was born in the village of Majar on July 23, 1952, to a Christian family. In November 1974 Ziad joined the Border Police. He was stationed in Judea and Samaria and was a top-ranking policeman, and as commander, he was successful and accepted by his commanders, policemen, and colleagues. On 6.12.1975 Ziad married. On June 17, 1982, when he returned home from work, Sergeant Ziad was killed in a car accident. He was thirty years old. He was laid to rest in the Bedouin cemetery of Majar-Marar. Ziad left behind a pregnant wife and three children. Another daughter was born shortly after his death.
